pc freezing & blue screen

Hello Guys,

My daughter's having some trouble with her pc. it keeps freezing and the Blue Screen of death keeps happening.
Trouble is she lives in Edinburgh and I live in Leeds.
She had her boyfriend and his mate build it.
I said it could be due to her GPU driver and to roll it back to an older version. (196.21) but it still won't play oldish games and starts to freeze. I have also said to check the GPU on her boyfriends friends system. also to check everything is seated properly.
But it's okay when working on word & animation type stuff.
I have asked her the next time an error message comes up to screen shot and send it to me so I have something to work on (google).


Any advise would be very much appreciated.

Repair windows install from the DVD. If that doesn't work download and run memtest.
