Question PCI Simple Communications Controller issue???

hi, i just bout a comlete new system, i have just insatlled an Athlon XP2800+ into a MSI MS-6712 KT4 motherboard (i bought it as a mobo kit). anyway, windows xp pro is installed everything is running fine, except i cant connect to the internet.

i checked my modem i the device manager, its working properly, did a diagnostic to it, and it talking fine. My cable is brand new, so i doubt it is that. While i was in the device manager, i noticed an Exclamation mark against my PCI Simple Comms Controllerr, so i put the motherboard drivers in, and tried to fid a driver on there for it, and it says no suitable driver can be found.....im at a loo, i think this is the reason why my modem isnt dialling out...any ideas please.

    thank you.
