memory question

i have at presant 1 stick at 512m/b and 2 at 256 , would i be better with 2 sticks of mem ( 512 m/b) instead of the 3 ?

Really depends on what type of RAM it is, having 3 sticks of 512 would also be good, but you need to make sure they are spec'd the same (as in all 400Mhz) and it's also helpful to have them the same brand, but not nessesarry
