Western Digital have had one out for a while now, afaik
Both this and the WD 1TB 2.5" drive are 12.5mm high alas, which will some laptops but not all as most are designed around 9.5mm thick drives.
Exactly. These drives are fine for going in miniature desktops, but not for regular laptops or external cases.
9.5mm high 1TB drives should be with us this year though.
Hopefully not too much longer before available for use in laptops - you reckon this year? Hope so want to upgrade my lappy HDD
I don't think they'll do it this year, there's so little demand and 3.5" 500GB platters are recent enough.
are these drives available in retail anywhere?.. / how much?

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
