    Infrequent Crashes

More of a nit pick than a real problem but thought i'd put it through to you guys in case anyone knows of it being a well known problem like "Oh yeah, you need to disable [x]".

Basically since I put my PC together every few weeks, or even months my PC will randomly black screen and crash citing a Video Hardware Error once windows reboots. Not ever had a crash in a game and I've had some pretty intensive gaming sessions in the past few months (Dragon Age, Bioshock 2, Empire: Total War). Only when I'm usually idling on the desktop or doing some browsing did it crash. Only thing that correlates with the crashes is the past two times it's crashed my bedroom door has been slammed pretty hard and at the same time the PC has crashed..

Checked to see if any wires are loose but all seems fine. Everything is securely tightened down. Haven't a clue! Any help is appreciated, specs are in the system tab and have kept my ATI drivers up to date with every new release.

Just to cover all bases, have you run a memtest on it? Also check cooling (stuck fans etc)

Yeah memtest is fine and fans seems to be whirling great, I clean my pc fully once a month with compressed air so there's very rarely a spot of dust to be seen.

    Re: Infrequent Crashes

Have you got an Nvidia card? I think it may be related to the issues with the ATi cards as they tend to crash in desktop and then quote a video error.

    Re: Infrequent Crashes

Nah unfortunately not, otherwise I could do some comparitive tests. As I mentioned it's not a big deal, in fact the last crash before yesterday was 1.5 months ago and the rest of the time the PC is 100% stable. Guess I'll just have to save pennies for a Fermi based card when they drop in price.
