Re: AMD bundle advice needed
Guys, does this lot ok and good enough to run all games:
AMD Dual Core Althlon II X2 250 3.0GHz 2MB Socket AM3 - Retail
Gigabyte GA M68M-S2P AMD AM3 DDR2 nForce 630a Motherboard
Corsair Value Select 2GB (1x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Dual Channel Kit
ATI Radeon 5670 512MB GDDR5 VGA/DVI/HDMI PCI-Express Graphics Card - Retail
Total cost: £222.07
Will be run on either Vista (Which mate already has) or Windows 7.
Re: AMD bundle advice needed
Ram and motherboard won't mix
I think the mobo also only does hypertransport 1. You should look for HT 3.0 inceas eof future upgrades. It will just retard the CPU a bit.
Re: AMD bundle advice needed
Gigabyte GA MA78LMT-S2 AMD 760G ATX (Socket AM3) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard
This one better. Didn't notice the DDR2 on the last one!
Re: AMD bundle advice needed
That one is better. What size screen does he use, that determines what gpu we need for it, and what games.
Re: AMD bundle advice needed
If you can give us a Budget and his screen resolution we can help a bit more. I would look at,
CPU:AMD Athlon II X2 240 on Scans shop offers for £44.64. Yeah not much of a saving over it normally.
MOBO:MSI 770-C45 at £49.30
RAM:The one you suggested here seems best at £44.77.
Graphics: 2 choices here, A XFX HD 5670 512MB GDDR5 at £69.46 or if hes playing or planning to game at full HD then somthing like HIS HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 at £122.99 would be a huge improvement over the HD 5670 at that resolution and able to handle most games pretty well with high detail.
With the HD 5670 you have a total of £208.17.
With the HD 5770 you get £261.70.
Re: AMD bundle advice needed
He plays on a 19" standard TFT. Not sure on budget. I said i would try and get some prices for him. All new game. He like FPS. Thanks
