IIRC the Asus cards have a good warranty. An HD5770 should be somewhat faster than you HD4850 and also has DX11.

You bugger - I wanted one at that price to bring down my power draw

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

I don't know coming on here promoting aria; sounds familiar! Great deal btw though; they don't even go for that second hand yet. They are meant to overclock very well too (not sure what cooler you got).

You could always underclock and undervolt? not going to get to 5770 levels but should save you some. Some bloke was saying he shaved some off the stock voltage @stock timings and it dropped his temps.

I use ATI Tray Tools with my HD4830. It is very useful to set custom 2D and 3D clocks with and there is also Radeon Bios Editor too if you want to implement such changes on a BIOS level.

I've undervolted CPU but sadly I don't have the option to do that with the GTX260

    Re: 5770 CuCore

Very nice price, and ive not looked at the performance on 10.3 yet know its improved, should be good enough for my 1920x1080, especially with 1GB ram, going to overclock the nuts off it too.

I frequent aria forums, they are keen to gain back customers and lose old reputation, give them a visit.

    Re: 5770 CuCore

I would have a look at ATITool and RivaTuner as these should both work with Nvidia graphics cards.

    Re: 5770 CuCore

Thats a very good deal on a HD 5770.

Iv not overclocked with Rivaturner on my GTX 260 just used it to alter the fan setting to ramp up more. Makes a big difference in temps when gaming yet its not any noiser as well.

Should be. From my lomited knowledge it not easy to get 1k on the core without it. Try and monitor the volts like you would with the temps to make sure any changes are taking effect. There should be a plugin for rivatuner (probably GPU-Z too) that shows them and allows voltage tweaks. I think the VTT (????) controllers found on alot of cards make a software voltmod in realtime possible.

This should work on the 260 too. They are meant to be geat oc'ers; you can get models with 680mhz on the core with what looks like stock heatsinks.

I've got a generic Asus one and it was happily chugging along @ 700 core
