    Recommend me a gaming mouse

My other half is looking for a mouse to play games with (she plays on her imac under windows and gaming with a mighty mouse is a pain!)

The budget is £25, she'd prefer wired over wireless, she quite likes the idea of an extra button by her thumb, and above all it has to be tasteful! (Which for her means dark in colour, not too shiney, and not pimped out to look like a spaceship/ chav's vauxhall corsa!)

She liked the look of the Microsoft 4000 (can't recall exact model) but its wireless rather than wired. Wireless isn't a deal breaker, but wired is preferable due to the pain of replacing batteries.

    Thanks in advance!

You can probably find a Logitech MX518 around that price.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

I love my Diamondback 3G, but that might be over budget for you. For gaming mice, you really can't go wrong with anything from Razor.

There is a good selection of gaming mice on Scan.co.uk. Check it out, you will find something that defintely meets your needs.

Re: Recommend me a gaming mouse

Razer mice tend to be more suited to those with large hands, which I'm guessing she does not have (could be wrong tho ).

    Options in your price range:
Gigabyte M6800 optical £7.99 from play
Gigabyte M6880 laser £11.99 from play
Saitek GM1600 optical £10.49 from play
Logitech MX518 optical £24.90 from scan

Steelseries Kinzu? That might be closer to 30 pounds, but completely understated (which is =cool in my dictionary). No thumb buttons, though.

Re: Recommend me a gaming mouse

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I've shown them to my other half, but it turns out a wheel that tilts left/ right for horizontal scrolling is now also a requirement. Also the mx518 and the gigabytes were all 'ugly' apparently, but she liked the understatedness of the steelseries, but wants the thumb button and left/ right scrolling...

Sorry guys, I might have a set an impossible task here. We could probabky stretch to £30 if that helps.

Thanks again for the suggestions so far.

Hmmmm - this one says it has side scrolling. Doesn't look like a tilt wheel though, some sort of software solution.

I think it does have side scrolling, as do other simple Logitech mice (the wheel just "clicks" when you move it to the side, my brother's does that). And that lovely switch for the wheel as well, I think that's really useful.

Re: Recommend me a gaming mouse

may I humbly suggest a good mouse mat? I prefer the soft ones, not the hard ones.

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Shark...ouse-Mat-Black

that's a good choice for low dough.. it WILL make your gaming better AND it'll help you play for longer
