Annoying issue with MS keyboard..

Right.. I got a Sidewinder X4 keyboard today, plugged it in and was working fine, the play/pause button just worked with Spotify..

But then Windows Update prompted me to get the driver for the keyboard (Microsoft IntelliType Pro 7.1), so I went ahead and installed it, but now the play/pause button opens Windows Media Player..

The play/pause button does work after Windows Media Player is open though, as in, commanding Spotify, but it just seems odd that I have to have WMP open.

There's a lot of talk on the internet about the same problem, but noone has a fix :(. Does anyone on here know how to fix it? :)


PS. Running Windows 7 x64.
