Just delved a little deeper. It seems although XFX's warranty is a bit of a nightmare, it's a Double Lifetime Warranty where as Sapphire only offer 2 years. Not good seeing as I'd expect to be running the cards for 3+ years.

Unless anyone can find any further info on Sapphires website but this is about it

Ive used that (pci-e adapters) as a solution before and had no stability problems with doing so.

If you can find a i920 cheaper than the i930 as your losing almost nothing by going for the older chip.

I would also go with the tightest timed ram (cas etc) at the speed you want eg.PC12800 etc as I have always read that timings are king better than just speed. Eg 1600 at cas :7 7 7 will be faster than 1600 cas:9 9 9 .

If you're buying in the UK then it's guaranteed to be fit for purpose for six years.

XFX only provide a 2 year warranty in the UK, Double Lifetime is for the states only IIRC.

From what I remember it is 6 years to bring the case to court, not that items shoud last 6 years. I'm sure Saracen could confirm/blow me out of the water with that one.
"I've heard there is a common problem with this item from forums" - If you read some forums they believe Elvis was abducted by aliens, doesn't mean it's true.

Thanks with the advice on the adapters.

yeah I'd decided to change and get the 920

I'll ask a little more about the RAM as and when pay day comes along at the end of the month. However, you've helped out nicely here already - Cheers

Indeed however I just know they'd make life horrendous. Shame that the Double lifetime warranty only applies to the states. They should at least extend it for 10 years for Non-US. I returned a 5 year old BFG 6800GT Ultra (from my mums PC) because it failed and they replaced it immediately. It has a 10 year warranty for outside the US customers.

It is the actual item, provided it is not considered consumable or reasonably expected to fail before this time.
