    i7 motherboard suggestions please.

    I'm going to be buying a motherboard for a i7 930 (D0) build after the weekend, I'm a complete noob when it comes to overclocking but I would like to overclock the 930 to atleast 3.80Ghz with a H50 cooler but what board do I get?

    I've got a budget of up to £175 for the board which I know doesn't give me a huge choice and I'll be purchasing from Scan Computers around the corner so again limits my choice

    So from this list: Scan.co.uk - Socket 1366 Motherboards

    Which ones meet my needs:
    * Good overclocking ability
    * In budget

    I have been leaning towards the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R board, but it looks too good (feature wise) for the price and can't gauge its overclock ability.

    TIA

    The June 2010 edition of custom pc did a labs test on lga1366 mobos, and the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R came out top. It proved very easy to oc, and had one of the best oc's they have seen on a lga1366 board.

    If I was looking for a 1366 mobo, then the gigabyte is the one I would choose.

    Scan have it on their today only page, http://www.scan.co.uk/todayonly/, for £147.07, well within your budget.

    Thanks for the reply Vinny.

    I also noticed they were on Today Only, they have a bundle with both the 930 + that mobo for £364.24 saving £22.73 over normal price which seems to be a good deal really.
