    SSD's

Looking for a 100Gb+ drive for the bosses laptop, he's looking at a new laptop but to be fiar his old one isnt bad (C2D 2Ghz, 2Gb ram, XP) so I'm going to try and steer him down the more ram and an SSD route.

Now, since I bought my Vertex/Agility drives theres a few other companies that have jumped on the SSD wagon.

So whats going to be a good drive for a work laptop, mainly using outlook (lots and lots of emails, pst) word, excel, web browsing..

    Re: SSD's

    Really?
For the price performance its still looking like the OCZ Agility/Vertex drives from what I can see, the Intel drives are nice but dont offer the price/performance of the OCZ stuff..

Really depends on what you want..

    Performance - Intel
    Value - OCZ

Yeah thats what people seem to say, yet the review I looked at the performance between the OCZ and the Intel drives didnt equate the to cost difference, thing is nobody seems to be able to back it up with a decent review.

Whats the price limit, because if its no objection then the new OCZ/Corsair [Sandforce based] ones are faster than Intel in nearly every area.

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

How much can you get the Vertex for? Unless I've been looking at the wrong place, the Intel is really very competitive price wise compared to most SSDs, at £2.20-2.35/GB. I can't find the Vertex for cheaper (actually, only more expensive!). I've not really been tracking the Agility closely, but I don't think it's cheaper either. The G.Skill Falcon tend to be cheaper than the Vertex while based on the same controller (so similar performance), but again, given that Intel is priced so similar and crushes anything that's not SandForce or that Corsair C300 (both more expensive), I don't think you'll go wrong with it.

But as I and TooNice pointed out, we need to know a budget.
