    500watt for ~£35 ?
Probably going to be very very cheap, and unable to sustain 500watt for any relevant length of time.
Stick to the brand names with PSU's. Its one of the most important parts of your system, if not *the* most.

I got one, powering 2500@3200, 9800pro, 4hd's cd-rw dvd-rw, turn the fans down and its near silent As long as its working I think its a bargain.

A PSU failing isnt a problem - taking other equipment down with it is.

A lot of people have learnt the hard way

Can't agree more, can be a lot of hassle when a PSU goes. But so far so good with mine, still prefer my custom modded one though, behind all the bling its a Enermax 350..total cost of mods £14,

go thermaltake or CWT, best two PSU's for the money you are looking to spend, ok its more than you wanted to spend, but as Agent says, don't skimp.

EditL About 70-80 is my current limit, but I can keep using the laptop for a few weeks if i need to spend more.

if you wanted a premodded one, ThermalTake do a butterfly version with prefitted led FAN's, but they do not do perspex shrouds as far as I am aware. tbh, the PSU is outta the way most fo the time, lights I can understand, perspex shroud don't really make sense to me, mind you I have a coolermaster and you can't see that part of the PSU lol

All well and good, but don't get obsessed with things looking good, over and above things working good.

I'd go for the Antec 350w SmartBlue. As good as it gets, and it glows Blue as well.

I allready am obessed with it looking good tho! Its performance is satisfactory to me, all I really use it for is the odd game of generals, the internet, college work and I have my compilers installed on it. (Pascal, VB and C++) so high end performance isn't really a major factor. i do however have a fairly decent spec machine just cos I can. and ss I said earlier, 350W is Not enough to power all my stuff just to give you lot an idea of what I need to run heres my spec:

    - A-bit KD7 S Motherboard
    - 512MB Corsair 2700 XMS Ram
    - Athlon XP 1700+ @ 2.03 GHz
    - Coolermaster Aero 7+ HSF
    - Radeon 9500 Pro Graphics Card
    - 123GB IBM "Deathstar" Hard Drive
    - 200GB Western Digital Hard Drive (Only there cos i recon my IBM is due death)
    - Sony DVD-Rom Drive
    - Lite-On Dual Format DVD RW
    - 2 x 80mm Silver Case Fans
    - 3 x 80mm Silver case fans with 4 blue LEDS each
    - Geneirc Exhaust
    - 2 x Blue "Plasma" Light Tubes
    - 2 x Blue "Neon" Sting

    I think thats everything
