Hi,
I have just purchased a new Dell laptop and will be using it for Djing/music production.
The external sound card i intent on getting can run off of a 6 pin firewire connection which unfortunately is not built into the laptop; it only has a 4 pin connection.
I was looking at Expresscards and wanted to know which one or brand i should go for.
SiiG seem to be pretty good but hard to get hold of and expensive.
Any suggestions?
are the Lycom ones at Scan any good?
you can get a 4 pin to 6 pin cable and it should work fine if the device has separate power supply. What sound card is it?

Try a 4pin to 6pin cable and see what power requirements the external box needs, you might be able to power it via a USB port perhaps?
