    eSata 2,5" HDD enclosure reccomendations

    Hi,

As per the title i am looking to upgrade the HDD in my Laptop to either WD Scorpio Black or Segate Momentus 7200.4 so am looking to also buy a eSata HDD enclosure for my old drive already in the laptop.

    Any recommendations?

Icy Box IB-266StUS-B. There are cheaper, but this is the best I've used.

I've also got this IcyBox, but while it has a thicker, sturdier pouch, it's quite a bit bigger and bigger still with that large pouch. The lights are difficult to see unless they're at eye-level too.

You'll need power of some external power for eSATA of course (IcyBox provide a USB power lead and a USB/power combo lead for weak USB ports with both of those enclosures). Personally, I don't find eSATA all that much faster than USB for these 2.5" drives, so I'm happy to stick to USB rather than carry an extra cable.
