Swan M10 Speakers

Has anyone ever seen these for sale in the U.K?



They look great and every review says they sound amazing!

AudioInsider said they won't ship to the UK, and they run at 115v... does that mean it's not possible to run them on our plugs or something?

Depends if you can find a transformer that will put out the right current really.

I know pretty much nothing about electronics is that respect - would I just have to buy an adapter?

Depends on ow the speakers get their power.

If tey take a mains supply input (that is, they have an internal power supply) you would need a 230 to 115Volt transformer, rated at the appropriate power level) (not the rated sound power output!). If they use an external power supply (like a plug type adapter) you could get a generic one in the UK provided that it delivers the right voltage (and capable of supplying the required current).

That's almost certainly an internal power supply (the end of the black wire which we can't see in that photo will just have an American plug on the end) so you would need to buy a step-down transformer. These are generally quite cheap, Amazon & eBay have plenty to choose from.

No, the second one will not do - it is not a voltage convertor - you need the stepdown transformer...

Damn - I found a shop in Germany that would be willing to ship them to the UK but the total price inc. shipping would be €200

No! If you look at the transfomer, it has a UK plug at one end (240V input) and a US style socket at the other (110V - so the speakers (110V, US plug) would plug straight into the transformer output.

Hey Guys,

We are the Australian Distributor of Swan's. The M10's are great. I'm amazed you cant get them over there.

We run on 240v here... So you guys should have no trouble with our products

We can ship to you too in the UK via sea for a total of $260 AUD which is approximately £150... A little bit expensive but at least you wont need step down transformers etc...

I see that's been reported as Spam. I think it's borderline. It's fair comment that the OP may find it cheaper to import from Aus, than to buy from the US.
