it is sexy. you can turn msn messenger on to you know those annoying pop ups. that tell you what someone says and it repeats it on the pad and beeps. so you can just take it outside and know when someone comes online etc. Doubles as a calculator. and you can use it as std numpad or to navigate through stuff. also has volume control and a media option on it. not really messed around with the media part of it as the logitech media thing takes up the use of the computer. dont notice any lag on the keyboard or anything. only thing is when the mouse has been idle a long time it takes a split second that is noticeable to respond. but thats no biggy as it woudlnt be left idle for very long in Games or anything. probally a battery saving feature rather than bluetooth tech
The lag you talk about is also apparent with the keyboard if it left for a while.
It's just a battery saving idea afaik.
That looks awesome, any pics?
I have been wanting logitech (Preferably) or M$ to make a keyboard with separate detachable number-pad for some time now - mainly because I want to save space and don't use the number pad ... but this implementation is both clumbsy and missing the point somewhat.
Firstly the keys have a laptop-type feel to them i.e. dead and very shallow - horrible to type with (personal preference, I know, but something to consider if you don't like laptop keyboards).
Secondly, why save a lot of space and then go and waste it again by adding useless borders around the whole keyboard ???
Thirdly, at that price they are taking the pi$$, quite frankly.
Finally, it does look very nice admittedly, but I'll await a future more compact and better quality keyboard revision. I'll stick with my cherry compact space saver (not cheap either) and MX300 for the time being.
looks very nice, be interested to see if the whole bluetooth thing really takes off. i assume the mouse charger/hub can connect other bluetooth products as well (mobiles etc). whats the battery life like? my dads cordless keyboard and mouse are terrible, run out every week and a bit, well the mouse anyhow. just seen the price, ouch. mite look into one in the future but im ok for now. i dont mind having wires much anyway. all in all tho very nice indeed!

The MX700 also does this.Originally Posted by Gristy

well ive only had it a few days. it came with duracell batterys depending on how long they last on the kb/mp then i will see whehter or not to get rechargeable ones. and yes the hub does connect other devices up to 7 i belive. i think the keyboard/mouse/media could take up 3 but unsure.
the border is nice without it would be painful to type on. and your right the keys are like a laptop keyboard. but there is no annoying lift because of the size of a laptop or annoying mouse/touchpad to content with. as on my laptop i cant turn it off on my mums you can. It is a very comftable keyboard and a pleasure to type with. i might take some pics of my current setup tonight when i get back from helping my mum with something its only 9:45 here in aus
... front border is fine - but left and right? I fail to see how they affect anything other than taking up unnecessary space. Many ppl find laptops a pleasure to type with as well, I'm not one (but it's a preference thing - it would just be nice if they offered a choice). It looks to be good quality though, I have to say - like most other logitech offerings.Originally Posted by Gristy
yer they seem to be a good manufacturer. i actually lean on the left border or id be off of the edge. so i actually have a use for that one! and it would look ugly with out one on the other side to match up with it woudlnt it ?
i've had my dinovo since november - the mouse needs charging every few days, they keyboard still has the same batteries in it. my only complaint is the media centre program taking up your entire pc... well, either that or windows media player doesn't show whats playing on the media pad. the range of the bluetooth is superb, i can go downstairs and to the other end of the house with the media pad, still control whats playing, and it connects my p900 up fine.
more importantly though, it looks spanking
Nox
yer i went probally 30metres to as far as i needed to away and could still use the pad was great. and yer bit annoying the media centre taking up the whole PC. but i guess it has to be that way. a firmware/software update to show what songs you are browing on the pad would be pretty nice.
How much? Crikey!
wow thats got amazing range on it, really looks SLICK!!! rechargble mouse, hhmm very tempting hehe
