Real silent PSU

I currently have the Zalman ZM850-HP

Excellent power supply and it is real quiet - very quiet , as in cant even hear it with your ear against it.
I am looking at getting a new power supply. I don't need a more powerful one, but one that is smaller. The Zalman is quite long and I want to get a new smaller case.

Any ideas on a real quiet (quietness is important) power supply that is also modular.

I have both a Corsair HX520 and a 600 Watt Enermax Modu 87. I can recommend them both, and both are very very quiet, with the Modu 87 being the quieter of the two if I had to choose. It's got a 14cm fan and runs at 92% efficiency (@240 volts), so the fan barely needs to spin at all.

You pay for what you get though. The Modu87 600Watt is ~£130.

Since the usual big boys have been named I'll give a thumbs up to BeQuiet as well. I can't hear the fan on my Dark Power when I put my ear to it.

I am using the Coolermaster M600, which is modular, has a single 12v rail and is pretty frickin' silent, it is so silent that sometimes I have to open my case and pick it up to look underneath to make sure its breathing! It is smaller than your zalman, and comes with plastic vibration dampeners.

You should look into the 850w version of it, since it is practically the same, just with more power.

The Zalman's are quiet, I'm happy with my 1000W ZM1000W-HP but it's too excessive for my needs now, shame, very good PSU too.

Love my Corsair HX520W, pretty quiet in my opinion.

I use Corsair HX620 and Enermax Modu82+ 525W both extremely quiet, with the Enermax edging the one to go for esp as Corsair have stopped selling the HX620 I believe

I have a Corsair HX650 (replaced the HX620) and it's made by SeaSonic. It's completely silent and is fairly compact.

Used both Corsair HX520 and bequiet Darkpower 650W and they are both effectively silent. With all PSUs though it does depend on load and case air flow as the silence is because the fan does not need to spin up.

I have the Seasonic X750w, it's modular and very quiet, no complaints.

My OCZ is pretty silent too, have been very happy with that since I bought it last June
