Pretty good specs on paper (e.g. 90% efficiency at 50% load) - now lets wait for the Johhnyguru etc. reviews. Cheers for the heads up on this Cat

Wow they're fully modular too, some may says it's a con but I love the look of it. I wonder how much pricing will be though.

Yes that's a major clue to it being a seasonic X series, which are also fully modular.
Intrestingly from the reviews the HX850w could of been 80 Plus Gold certificate, as the 80Plus tests are offically run at room temp, however Corsair rate their PSU's in hot envronment so only put it in for silver.

Think that's just about the most positive review I've ever seen Johnny give. Fair does to corsair, very nice PSU.

    I'm think you're right.

For what it's worth, new seasonic models:

The 460w fanless is most interesting in my opinion.

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

The fanless PSUs do look interesting as is the 560W version with a fan.

The AX750 and AX850 are based on the Seasonic X series according to Redbeard on the jonnyGURU forums. The AX1200 seems to be made by Flextronics.

Re: Corsair launch Corsair Professional Series Gold series PSUs

That's only the oversized 1200w model, the other two are standard sized.
Now the seasonic X series only come in standard sized, not oversized or at that high a wattage.

Corsair have used multiple OEMs one one range before, so untill we see the inside of the other models it still could be seasonic.

    EDIT Beaten by CAT again

EDIT: must say that jonnyguru review was a little disappointing, but in general they have been for the last year or more, they used to have more background info in them.
Yes it's got the nice stuff about the potential problems of single rail psu's when the amps are that high, mentions it's made by Flextronics but nothing about them or the overall design.

Has anyone ever heard of Flextronics before? if this is the correct "flextronics" http://www.flextronics.com/ then seems to be mainly industrial and small bit of server side stuff.
