Something fell off my motherboard! Need replacement.

    Hello,

I am in need of suggestions for a replacement of the ASUS P5K-E/WIFI-AP AiLifestyle Series P35 Socket 775 Socket eSATA 8 channel Audio ATX Motherboard.

It needs to be currently sold and similar, particularly to work with the hardware I have installed. I use the built in audio SPDIF, so that is needed too.

Please give me some suggestions, I can't use my PC until I get this ordered and install it. The study is a right mess, the PC is simply lying flat on its side and takes up a lot of space.

Thank you so much for your help (in advance).

Does it matter if the SPDIF is coaxail or optical?

Good question, I'm using an optical connector to my amplifier.

Hello Skulltrail, I went for the last one you listed (from eBuyer: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/145748).

Thanks for your suggestion. How come none of the motherboards come with wireless built in any more?

You still see wireless on some mATX boards, especially since the H57 etc. chipsets were launched, but it seems they are targeted more for the media builds than "regular" desktops. Also, many high end board manufactures will presume that their products will be used for gaming, where a wired connection will give lower latency / better ping.

Re: Something fell off my motherboard! Need replacement.

Yeah, never seen them on full ATX.

Much more common on mini-ITX and micro-ATX. I think it's much as Skulltrail said - not enough people use it - full-size motherboards for custom builds are generally going to be for folders/gamers/workstation users, and they aren't likely to settle for wireless.

And when you can get a USB wireless adapter for £10-15, it makes more sense to let people install their own.
