Best 65nm Processor

Whats the best one I could get for around 70 Pounds or if anyone has one for around that money that would sell on here to me?

Either a top end C2D E6850, or possibly a Q6600 i would guess.

Easily a E6750 for about £50 to £60, the "buy it nows" on eBay for E6850s and Q6600s tend to be closer to £90, but you may have luck via bidding.

Sorry I forgot to mention it had to be a Core 2 Duo (motherboard limitations) saving me opening up another thread if anyone has a spare C2D with is 65nm and Is worth around 60-70 pounds I would be very greatful.

Well the chip I baught off scan I think is not compatable with my motherboard so I want to sell it on here then buy one which is 65Nm so within the next couple of days.

Its a brand new E6700 ( launched in april I think )

Ok thanks I will give that a shot when I get home, is it the BIOS that is the restriction between 65 and 45?

Thanks for the info! I need to do a bit of research to see if the BIOS for a Dell Vostro 400 will support it - It definitely does E8xxx but not sure about the Pentiums. I'll get back to you in an hour or so.

To the best of my knowledge, yes, if the board supported the original 65nm Core 2's. But if you find the exact model on MSI's website then you will definitely know.

I'm looking for something a bit more powerful and a big big upgrade from my celeron duel core E1400, but if nothing comes up i will deffo get back to you

A secondhand Q6600 or Q6700 quad core would be a good upgrade but I would not overclock them on your motherboard as they have a higher TDP than an E1400.

OTH, you will need to check if your motherboard supports them.
