    my build before the vat increase

    AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.8GHz 9MB Cache Socket AM3 Retail Box Processor £142.30
    Asus M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 880G Socket AM3 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard

    640GB Western Digital WD6402AAEX Caviar Black, SATA 6Gb/s

    corsair vx550 58.99
    going to install another ati hd 4850 to run as crossfire.
    yes and some memory not sure which one yet., most important would the power supply support the above.

    Some Samsung F3 drives have issues with the SB850 southbridge. Also not all 880G based motherboards support symmetrical Crossfire.

    What retailer is the OP thinking of using BTW?

    alliedsdirect.com or dabs both work out the sameish. and scan. Asus M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 880G supports crossfire, plus about to order tonight,
