Hi
Just wondering if the MX Anywhere can take rechargeable batteries?
Also, can the middle mouse button be programmed to middle click rather than switch between smooth scroll and normal scroll, or will I have to use the top button for that?
Thanks.

I don't know about the MX anywhere, but on my wireless logitech the original rechargeables died and I've replaced them with some Enerloops.
I can't see any reason why you can't.
Also I think there's an option in Setpoint that lets you assign what buttons do what.
the scrollwheel can't be programmed as a button press as far as I know because it's a mechanical system to change between freewheel and click to click, not electronic like on the MX Revolution / MX Performance mouse
The middle mouse button can be programmed as default middle mouse button in setpoint. I always do this myself.

You can't with the anywhere mx, I have one and I just looked in setpoint. You could however program the left and right tilt of the mouse wheel to do something other than horizontal scroll. The button behind the mouse wheel can be programmed as middle mouse button.
I've not tried rechargeable batteries in mine, but I get a lot of use out of normal AA's
