You cant flash the BIOS independent of flashing the mainboard BIOS. The abit drivers for the Sil 3112 are old, oh and dont use the latest (10.0.47) the ones to use are 10.0.40.

There are various 'hacked' BIOS's out there with later Sil 3112 BIOS's embedded however the risk is yours if you want to try them.

Please provide linkage on flashing the bios independently because afaik it wasn't possible.

Is it a tricky procedure or something?

I don't know, never done it, but there's a flash utility on the silicon image website.

Just had a look and my first reply is correct, you cannot flash the Sil BIOS independent of the motherboard BIOS.

The flasher utility is just for standalone PCI SATA Raid cards.

    Here you go: http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=18775

Ask kez nicely and he may integrate a sil bios of your choice in the mb bios.

    Wayhey!

And no, you can't flash the sata bios independant of the mb bios unless it's on an expansion card. An mb manufacturer sticks it all on the same chip and you have to reprogram the whole chip each time you update it - hence the method I used in my thread.
