Remanufactured Printer Cartridges
These days as we face the expensive world we would like to cut our costs as much as possible. For this we would also try to find some alternative to save money on printer cartridges. For this Remanufactured Printer Cartridges came as an alternative to save money and at the same time get good quality prints as well.
I would like to know what do people think about Remanufactured Printer Cartridges and are they good for printers or not.
Re: Remanufactured Printer Cartridges
I think that they are, by and large, a somewhat large lump of the proverbial. You?
Re: Remanufactured Printer Cartridges
I uSe refilled cartridges in my HP printer I bought from ebAy but only because the official HP toner costs More than I paid for the printer.
Re: Remanufactured Printer Cartridges
I think most of them are rubbish. Every company I have worked for tried to save cost on the cartridges but in the end all of them reverted to original ones.
It takes too much effort to test them out from different suppliers. Furthermore, the print quality and the amount of output will suffer.
Not to mention the hassle to clean a printer now and then because a dodgy toner "blew up" inside, (in case of a laser printer that is) :D
Re: Remanufactured Printer Cartridges
They're more hassle than they're worth. You'd do better just finding a cheap e-tailor and getting them from there. I find Amazon is usually the cheapest once delivery is factored in.
Re: Remanufactured Printer Cartridges
A lot are manufactured in sweat shops outside the UK - poor quality control, high risk to the printer - in fact if I thought for a moment that anyone was going to try to promote them on HEXUS, I'd probably ban them immediately! :)
Re: Remanufactured Printer Cartridges
Really it is cheap to get a re manufactured printer cartridges. It not only that it saves money but also it helps to keep environment clean by avoiding the used printer cartridges to be filled in lands.

Particularly by using their home page setting.
Re: Remanufactured Printer Cartridges
Ok this probably was spam But I'd like to bring up the issue.
One thing is there is a difference between Remanufactured and compatible (cheap knock off).
A true remanufactured cartridge should use the following
Original casing
Same rollers & drive gears as the original (same parts from the same oem)
One thing that can let them down is the quality of the toner powder they use, good ones will use a toner of equal quality.
Both particle size and colour density/opacity
From my experience compatible toners are more prone to to use low quality parts and toner, leading to a grainy texture to your printouts at best, to leaking and roller issues at worse.
Cost again does come into it, remanufactured toners are only slightly cheaper (about 75% the normal cost) where as compatible are far cheaper (about 40% or less the normal cost)
We've tried out a few different ones at work in the hope of lowering costs, all the compatible toners have been cheaper but nasty.
There's one very good brand of remanufactured (which I'm not naming as I'm not hear to advertise but discuss) which we now use a lot of now.
The saving per toner isn't that much, but it does add up over volume.
No major issues after just over two years of use now.
EDIT: if you find a remanufactured toner that's really cheap then it's probably not, just a compatible with only one part taken from an original toner cartridge or a simple refill.
One thing I've seen done on a cheap "remanufactured" toner was all they had done was to take an original toner, drill a hole into the toner reservoir, poured in a load of cheap low quality toner, sealed the hole with a glue gun and stick a new electronics pack on it.
It's not remanufactured it's a refill.
cheap toner powder + worn rollers + glue gun seal = bad.
