    PSU connector noob question

    Hi

Got a new mobo with an 8pin 12v socket on (4pins blocked off with removable plug). My PSU (HPU-4M880), appears to have both a 4pin and 8pin connector, but just wanted to make 100% sure its going to be ok to connect the '8P' connector?. See the PSU here http://www.hipergroup.com/products.p...ock=Connectors

    thanks
    joe

    Re: PSU connector noob question

Yup, you pretty much have to plug it in for the board to be stable anyway. If you plug in the 4 pin it will work too but overclocking and stability may be a problem.

Either way, yes, you do plug the 8 pin 12V connector.
