These problems started a few weeks ago when a mate brought round his RAM and graphics card to test in my PC to troubleshoot his own computer.
We swopped in the graphics card and RAM and concluded the RAM was at fault. I put all of my stuff back in but started having problems booting my PC up. Inititally it would be a mixture of the fans spinning up to max RPM and the PC just sitting there black screened.
Upon restart it might do it again, or it would boot to windows then BSOD (display driver issues) before restarting & booting properly.
i tried uninstalling the display drivers a couple of times but still had the issue so eventually just deceided to format the bugger. Unfortunutly this has not helped, it isn't BSOD any more, but when booting 50% of the time it still spins the fans up to max RPM but doesnt boot, or even start the process. I have to turn off & turn on again a few times until it works.
I also can't get 2gb of RAM to work, it is the same corsair brand, and same freq (6400 - 80mhz) but different timings. its worked fine for several months but I can no longer get the PC to accept it. Could it need a high voltage then the PC is giving it due to diferent timings from the other 2gb of Corsair RAM?
Can anyone think of anything I could do to try and diagnose these problems a bit better?
Thanks guys :)
