Good morning campers,
I'm looking at getting a Netbook in the near future, but from my brief browsings am slightly confused and swamped by the choice. I understand what I'm looking for, but am finding it hard to distinguish between models and makes, so thought I'd come seeking advice from the guiding light of Hexus users
It'd mainly use it for Internet and Word documents for on the move. My motive behind getting one is that I'd quite like to do a bit of travelling (both UK and Europe) and rather than take a pad of paper with me I could use a netbook and keep a diary on there, upload photos and keep in contact people back home while on the move. I visit London quite a lot and using it on the Train would be good as there's wi-fi support, as well as for if I do get abroad in youth hostels and places.
I'm also looking at OU courses so would be used for that if I'm moving around, or can do work outside of the house if it can be done offline.
Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm tempted towards SSD ones but they seem rare and unsure if it's worth the gain. If possible a Linux based one wowiuld be good for speed/make it cheaper?
All I really know is that I want one that has:
1GB RAM
Wi-fi
Atom CPU
and is fairly cheap (£250 new or less)
Currently looking at:
Acer Aspire One 532h
Asus 1001HA
Asus 1005HA
Samsung N130
HP Mini 210-1020
Dell Inspiron Mini 10
If anyone can help shed some light/distinguish what to look for I'd be grateful, currently I'm just looking at reviews and searching for them
Thanks for any help
Adam
