    AMD Bulldozer uses socket AM3r2

    Usual FUD disclaimer applies:

if bulldozer could run on am3 with just a bios update, that would be another string to amd's bow so to speak. i mean given the option to not do a complete upgrade over just a cpu change because of a socket update - which would you prefer to to? it looks like it could be something akin to am2+/am3 transition, an having a cpu that is slightly backward compatible would be a good thing i think.

Re: AMD Bulldozer uses socket AM3r2

Wonder if they will call it AM3+

Mind you, my AM2 motherboard didn't get a BIOS update to allow AM2+ cpus, so I won't hold my breath
