    Best CPU cooler for AMD>

    more specifically a 1055T.

    I'm generally looking at scan.co.uk

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Arcti...-to-130-Watts!!

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Xigma...opper-Block%29

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Akasa...6-1366-AM2-AM3

obviously id like to spend the least possible... but can stretch to the akasa if its reaslly worth it

Re: Best CPU cooler for AMD>

Ahhh that's good, the issue you can have with tower coolers on amd is they tend to only be fitted in one way and some will end up up/down alignment only.
However for a lower mounted psu design case like the Lexa S that's not an issue as you can just have the hot air from the cooler blowing stright out of the top of the case.

So decent low cost, Xigmatek S1283 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Xigma...uad-Core-Ready

Bit more money but a bit better
    Titan Fenrir V2 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Titan...366-K8-AM2-AM3)

Scythe Mugen 2 (ebuyer have it slightly cheaper than scan) http://www.ebuyer.com/product/158603

ended up going with the xigmatek due to reading some good reviews on it, also I realised that I was so tempted to get the scorpion one, but it was an extra £9 for some leds or whatever so went for the cheaper option, if it doesn't perform too well I will probably treat myself to a corsaid H50 or hyper 212 at a later date.

A timely thread, my Xigmatek S1283 turns up today. Looked up the review on SPCR and it was rather glowing. Well glowing for SPCR anyway, they would probably complain a stationary brick was deafening due to the rush of ambient air over the rough surface or something

xigmatek didn't actually fit in my lexa S, so now I am planning on getting a H50 as I realise I made a school boy error and got a crap that has limited options for CPU cooling, however, H50 will look cool, be quiet and cool well so all is not lost.

actually you get a water cooling kit for £45 to £60. (Corsair H50 for example)

Well yes, but it doesn't perform any better than a high-end air cooler and it requires you to reverse your airflow which is silly.

I thought you meant proper W/C, with radiators, pumps, hoses all separate and expensive

I don't know what you where trying to do but it should easily fit inside the Lexa S

    Here's a lexa S with a TRUE inside it

It's near enough the same size as the xigmatek s1283 (same height)
TRUE with fan, 159mm tall, 132mm wide 69mm deep
    S1283 with fan, 160mm tall, 120mm wide, 77mm deep

You should have no issues fitting it inside the Lexa S

    Oh and

I ignored this as it looked just like a spam post, totally ignoring the original "low cost" requirement, just giving a vague nonsensical reply.
Now you've actually said you mean the corsair h50, Yes, it'll be better than the s1283, however it's 3 times the price and it's not 3 times as good.
The S1283 is not the best air cooler out there, however it's still very good and the difference between good and top end really isn't that much at all.
And at a cost of £20 the s1283 is amazing value for money.
