Re: abit ip35 mobo no boot no bios no beep

The fact that you are able to boot sometimes after moving the CPU might suggest that it is has become loose over the years. Perhaps try removing the heatsink/fan from the top of it, cleaning both that and the CPU, reapplying some thermal paste (if you have any) and then re-attaching it. If you can, make sure it holds tight to the CPU and motherboard (but not too tight).

Failing that, I'm afraid I'm running out of ideas. It may just be a case of wear and tear causing the motherboard to have problems. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

That was the first thing I checked,I have also taken every piece of hardware off and checked them individually, and it never beeped to say that I have missing hardware, it just stays jammed unless I give it that small spark when inserting the PSU CPU connectors.
Were is this problem coming from?
Please I don`t want to buy another motherboard I am in love with this one,and really don`t want to buy another for a part that may cost 5cents.

Do you have another computer (or could you borrow one) just to test your PSU in? If it powers up another machine without any problems then my guess would be that it is indeed a fault with your motherboard. Especially if you have the same problem with all other pieces of hardware removed and tested with a replacement.

    Ace.
We sell a pack of 3 dummys at my shop for 99p, if you post your address I'll sned one out to you.
Honestly fellah, what more do you want people to say, it seems like you've tried everything short of getting the multimeter out. There isn't a great deal more people can do on a forum.
Oh, and ppsssttt, don't tell anyone, but we don't actually work for abit. In fact, abit havn't made motherboards for over a year so I don't think anyone here is really that arsed if you get a non abit board.

Probably because Abit no longer make consuner mobos, and this forum is only visited now by enthusiasts who are willing to give up their time - unpaid - to help out people with problems. There is no official Abit representation.

So calling these people names doesn't help your cause. And as for your other rant - which was childish and unnecessary, and has now been deleted, its not surprising that you haven't had much other assistance. Asus make good boards but posters are not clairvoyant and cannot be aware that you have switched brands (and we really don't care so long as you get a board that meets your needs.)

However, should you get problems with that board, you will be free to post back in the technical sessions - after your week long suspension has expired.

My thanks to norman12, lololloy and sputnik1 for their contributions to the thread in the true spirit of
