    Re: Laptop for video editing

I know you said c2d, but if these two have enough oomph in the CPU then they are quite a lot cheaper:

    HP Pavilion DV7-3101SA

AMD Turion II Dual Core M520 2.3GHz
    4GB RAM
    320GB HDD
    17.3" BrightView TFT
    DVD Writer
    ATI Radeon HD 4530
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    For about £550.

    Or

    HP G72-130sa Laptop

    Intel Core i3 330M
    3GB RAM
    320GB HDD
    17.3" HD+ BrightView
    DVD Writer
    Bluetooth
    Windows 7 Home Premium
    For about £560

    Re: Laptop for video editing

Actually found this at not much more. Still the screen size is on the smaller end of the scale:

Toshiba Satellite Pro L550-17T Laptop - Great for Home or Office Use

    Intel Core 2 Duo T6570 2.1GHz
    3GB RAM
    320GB HDD
    17.3" TruBrite® HD+ TFT
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 HyperMemory
    Webcam + Bluetooth
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    About £620.
