    Celeron E3300

Are these any good and how do they compare to say, an original e6300?
I know Celerons used to have a bad stigma (I had one!), but logic tells me the newer C2D based ones should be fine.
I was considering buying one to replace an aging AthlonXP 2200 box I have. It would be a cheap "upgrade" as I have a spare 775 mobo, RAM and PCI-E graphics card.

    Cheers.

    I'd either:

    1) Stump up a little extra for a "Pentium Dual Core" (for the extra cache) - Scan have the E5300 on offer on Today only at £46.99

    2) See if you can pick up something more powerful 2nd hand

I can highly recommend the E6700 Pentium Dual Core, its rapid for me and only £73!
Also a Mac User, its 6 years old and still going strong! Motorola PowerPC G4 1GHz, 512Mb Crucial RAM, 80Gb HDD, Mac OS X 10.4.11! Ooh the speed!

Well fair enough if you have the mobo, but for that price, an athlon X2 is best I think.
