    Looking for Netbook/Notebook

Not sure if this was the correct place, but yea, I need a netbook/notebook for my upcoming internship in Ireland. I've been looking around a bit and can't really seem to find what I'm looking for...

I will need it mostly to do my project assignments, so this will go from MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, to Adobe Reader and mere browsing. Apart from this I want to be able to watch HD movies without any problem (movies on my HDD, as well as youtube ones)
    I won't be needing a gaming netbook/notebook.

Now there are loads of netbooks out there that offer most of that, I just wish a little more than the average, as I wanna do all my required things without any hassle of slowing down the system or what so ever.

    In short;
    - Need it for school work.
    - Needs to be able to play (full) HD movies / videos.
    - Size needs to be (preferably) bigger then 10", so from ~ 12" to max 14" and should not weigh that much.
    - In terms of battery life, it's not the largest requirement, I can live with ~2.5 to 4 hours. Won't need 8+
    - Budget is maxed around 400 euros, as I won't need it for gaming.

The only netbook/notebook I've come across so far is the Asus 1201N and I was about to order it in Silver when they took the damn thing out of stock and it seems it won't be coming back lol (location Netherlands!) I've also seen the MSI Wind U230 Dual Core which seemed ok, but I really got no idea what is any good when it comes to notebooks/netbooks...

    Any suggestions?

    This may fit the bill:

I don't know what its euro price is, but worth a look.

    Re: Looking for Netbook/Notebook

That's a tough requirement, the laptops in the 12"-14" screen range still tend to be more expensive.

Skulltrail's sugestion is close but over the budge, £417.95 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/190375...edium=products is the cheapest I've found and it's a slightly slower cpu, celeron dual core SU4300, the cheapest Core2duo SU7300 version I've found is from Dixons but it's £470

The Acer Ferrai One, despite the rather tacky branding would be a good option
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/172295 for that size, 11" screen but full 720p 1366 x 768 resolution. (no dvd drive, which is normal on all netbooks) also the ati 3200

Personally I'd look at 15" screen laptops in tha price range, ether a pentium dual core or athlon x2
Something like the Acer Aspire 5732Z http://www.ebuyer.com/product/199170
or Toshiba Satellite Pro L450D-14X http://www.ebuyer.com/product/206552

Even at 15" screen size you are at the bottom end for laptop on that budget

Actually €400 is £335 so even these are over budget.

So we're back to netbooks and the basic 10" screen (1024 x 600) & single core atom for around £200
eg acer aspier one http://www.ebuyer.com/product/226634 £216

The high end dual core net books are around £400
    like the Asus EEE PC 1201N, dual core atom + ION + 12" 720p screen, http://www.ebuyer.com/product/223419 £398

You might be better off with a cheap 2nd hand laptop

    Re: Looking for Netbook/Notebook

    Thanks for the suggestions!

I kinda forgot to mention one thing though, I'm buying it from a specific store (www.centralpoint.nl), all prices are without VAT there but it doesn't matter since I'm getting a 20% discount if I'd buy there so it's similar to being without the VAT. The store is on some aspects kinda pricey though, and it doesn't have all models either (took the silver Asus 1201N out of the store, and lacking the Asus UL20A, bummer!)
My main thing would be really being able to watch movies on it, kinda all netbooks would be fit to work with MS Word etc for documents.

I'll look into your suggestions, and I can maybe go a lil above the 400 euro limit if it's worth it
