    Digital sound question...

Ive just received and installed some Creative 5500 speakers and i'm very happy with the AC3 encoder via Spdif, say I upgrade to a non soundstorm solution, is there any card that can encode AC3 on the fly?

I know audigy 2's etc cant do it, a more informed reader might have an answer though

Ahh just found one, the cmedia 9870+ does DICE ie DD encoding. No boards out with this chip yet but hopefully shortly.

I wish nvidia would do a A64 inc soundstorm solution

If motherboard makers use this chip in future boards we will get Soundstorm like quality from a low cost chip, yay
