Time for a new PSU

Its a 700w m12 its got an additional small fan where all the cables come out of the psu, it had started to come on as soon as the psu had any load, It was very loud and high pitched

The psu seemed to be hot all the time, and I could hear what I can only explain as sparking from inside the psu, so I figured it was time to get a replacement before it took rest of my system out with it

Didnt think I would be able to get an rma, Because also when the psu had some load the main big fan
would start to clip the fan grill and make a clicking noise, very annoying, so I removed the fan grill

Made me a bit wary about getting seasonic again to be honest, I knew the 850W corsair was quality and not made by seasonic

Aye, the AX1200 is made by neither Seasonic or CWT.

corsair Hx 850 and 750w are made by Channel well technology

Got nothing against Seasonic, it served me well for a good few years, I just did not want another seasonic, hence I went for the 850 made by cwt

Really? I think CWT make the higher end models for Corsair, but i don't think they do their own line any more - if they do it must be OEM. I've got a CWT from about 5 years ago, 20 pin and 4pin 12v only and its running my AM3 build solid.

Which model? CWT are huge, and their technology has changed a lot over time, the same as with other manufacturers. Comparing similar corsair models, CWT units seem not to be as efficient/quiet, but might be more stable.

My 'cheapy' scan/xclio/median unit is also CWT, and solid. So yes, they're usually in my list of makes to go for, but as they only supply PSUs to other people you have to check the details to find them.
