    Question Another TRIM question...

So I try to run TRIM tonight and the Intel tool won't let me.
TRIM can't be run when your drives in a RAID array, it tells me. Great, but my drive isn't and hasn't been since I got the drive - backed up by the fact last time TRIM was ran was the 16/7/2010.

I go into the BIOS anyway and there it is: SATA set too ACHI, all drives running off the ICH. Now, Friday 16th I received my new BD-RW'er, which is SATA based - disc drive I had before was IDE. Friday the 16th I also the last time TRIM ran.

The only thing i can think is that somehow the disc drive is causing a conflict some how. I'll have to have a look tomorrow as its a bit late to start taking screwdrivers to my case but has anyone else been faced with this issue before ?

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

    Re: Another TRIM question...

    Update: Fixed it.

I tried every combination of SATA ports and cables under the sun before i finally sorted it. Before ripping my dangly bits off i thought I'd delve into C:\ and see what was in here and if anything could stop TRIM from running.
I was greeted by various folders highlighted in blue - compressed for those who don't know. So, I uncompressed and it [TRIM] works fine again now.
I'm glad its only a seemingly minor issue that stopped TRIM working but I'm also annoyed the software was telling me it was a RAID issue - clearly Intel need to improve their software.
