Yup, I agree. A 500GB Samsung F3 and a 5770 should fit nicely into £150.
Aria seem to be doing good deals on both at the moment - £30 and £120 respectively.
but then how much is delivery
Would be about £160 then so I may as well just order from scan then.

Mind you, Scan seems to be about £16 more expensive, partly because they've only got one 5770 in stock

is 1GB really necessary? only running at 1080p so will 512mb suffice? I'm guessing it will for cod4...
Probably, but the difference in price is so small it seems more worthwhile going for the 1GB option
Alternatively I get a GTX 460 and sell the 8400GS and get a new HD next month when I get more money/tomorrow if I get money for doing well in exams
Could even keep the 8400GS for physx, if that's even possible.
Who knows. I'm starting to incline towards SSD and a cheaper GPU this is annoying I'm incredibly indecisive

I'd go for the graphics myself, as much as I want an SSD it's fairly low on the priorities list! Just depends what you use your system for most of the time.
Well I actually get along fine with a 8400GS which says a lot about hwo badly I need new graphics. Perhaps it would be nice to run cod4 on max settings but seeing as I only play competetive it has little use (on promod the basic rule of thumb is to turn all settings down to minimum). However AA would be good.
I think any fast 500GB HD would already be much snappier than my old maxtor 200gb drive tbh.
64GB Kingston V-Series (2nd gen) SSD + HD4670? From ebuyer you should be able to fit those into £150. Might even be able to push the GPU up a bit...
A 9800gt might be a better option than a 4670

Or 2nd hand . . . if I get that gtx260 I'll be selling my 9800gtxwhich will still be a heck of a step up from a 8400gs and cheaper

I dunno I just been away for 2 weeks and I haven't missed gaming at all... wouldn't it be a complete waste of money in that case? Might give up on gaming and focus on getting into uni...
