Cant change WD5000BEVT to SATA1!

The WD5000BEVT is a 2.5" SATA2 Western Digital Drive. Trying to install this into a Dell laptop that only supports SATA 1.5GB/s. Never had a problem changing a drive to this mode before (not sure if I've tried with a WD drive before). Usually either putting a jumper on it or changing the firmware, however, all I can find for these 2.5" drives is that the jumpers change spread spectrum clocking or the drives power (nothing to do with SATA modes). And in Western Digital's software Data Lifeguard Diagnostics (DLG) there's no options at all about drive speeds. I vaguely remember WD having different software available. Is there some other software I need to use or do WD not make very compatible drives?

Actually Dan, after having a read through your posts it appears that you're using the good nature of HEXUS members to run your business (or whoever you work for)

Looking at your recent posts and the threads you have started it's clear that you're using this forum almost exclusively to solve issues you don't understand or can't fix yourself. While arguably this is what a forum is for, we are not here to support businesses like this, but rather end users and enthusiasts. What makes it worse is that some of these questions are basic and you have been unable to troubleshoot without using peoples goodwill from here.
