Hey all, I am currently trying to put together a computer for university with a budget of around £450. This includes a monitor, but does not include a graphics card (already have GTX260).
Uses are going to be for gaming and media use for the most part.
Right now, this would be my build list:
Coming to a total of £290, and excluding a monitor.
Any suggestions on how to improve this build or better allocate my budget would be very helpful, as well as any recommendations for a monitor. Thanks.
Your motherboard doesn't support DDR3 RAM which you've got in your basket. Either change your motherboard for one which supports DDR3 or go for some DDR2 RAM instead.

Swap the PSU for the Corsair CX400 which is currently going for £29.

Terbinator - my graphics card needs two PCI-E plugs and the Corsair CX400 only has one, so unfortunately doesn't seem to be an option.

I beleive he said it was a GTX 260 he had already. Uses 2x 6 pin PCI plugs from memory. Mayby look at the OCZ 500W Modstream PSU at ebuyer for £55

If you can then stretch to a 4Gb kit of RAM as prices seem to have dropped a bit. You could always pick up another 2Gb later on.
