£200 to fix computer and maybe upgrade :D

    Ok peeps,

So after many stressful nights of testing i can finally conclude that my crucial ballistix ram is what has been causing my computer to not post properly.

*Thanks to everyone who helped out in my last thread by the way *

Anyway i know need to invest in some new RAM and seeing as i have about £200 to spend i thought i may aswell look at some upgrades

First of all can anyone recommend me some RAM which would work in my asus p5k-e, i originally had 2gb but since i have got into photography and video editing i think i might need some more. although i thought vista can only use 2gb or something? (someone care to enlighten me?)

Also seeing as i highly doubt RAM will cost £200, what should i do with the £100 or so, i was thinking either a decent audio card (opinions) or maybe trade in my 8800GT and get a better graphics card or something.

Anyway, what do you guys think??

Tried RMAing the RAM to Crucial? Does the PC post at all? Can you run the Memtest boot CD to check for errors?

RAM usually comes with large warranties and I think the Crucial one is a 'lifetime' one.

Might as well save that money for beer, erm, upgrades elsewhere if possible.

    +2

I have RMAd before and they were fairly quick. However, you may want to weigh up cost of postage against cost of new!

Yeah i looked into RMA'ing the RAM, but the only pre-quisite they require is a receipt of the product, which being an idiot i am, i don't think i have

Check it out anyway. The worst they can say is "sorry, but we can't help".

You don't have an email of the order or anything to suggest purchase?
