Bluray - Under £50 - Help Choosing One!

I'm looking for a blu ray drive, not looking to spend alot and at scan there are two for under £50 - these being the:

Samsung 8x - £48 - http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Samsu...tScribe-Retail

I see the major difference is speed and thats probably important, so instinct says go for the samsung?

All help choosing one appreciated.

Id get the samsung, its probably quieter than the liteon too.

I have the Liteon (and one of the old Sonys) and it is dead quiet as Blu Ray is only 4 speed. The Samsung also writes to DVDs and CDs while the Liteon only reads them, so it also depends on the function you want, ie if you only want one drive I'd go for the Samsung.

Have had nothing but head aches with Liteon drives so I'd go for the Samsung.

Had the LiteOn you've linked since January and I've used it weekly without fail in my PCH C-200 to watch DVDs, BRs and to play audio CDs

No issues whatsoever and I paid a lot more than it's going for now

edit: it's cheaper still on Amazon (£38.99) with free super saver delivery

Interesting just read the samsung writes DVD's too, can replace my IDE hp writer now if i get it.

However, £10 less for a pure blu ray sounds like a steal at £39 :/
