Hi all,
I have just got this board off these very forums for my new i5 build and have just ordered some of this from scan:

Is this going to work OK on this board do you think ?

Yep, shouldn't be a problem
I used the OC genie on my board and it generate 3.8GHz IIRC.
However, it heavily over volted nearly everything, most worryingly the RAM was at 1.75v.

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
By manually overclocking I got up too 4.4GHz with less volts than OC genie was applying for 3.8GHz:
around 1.44v on the CPU, 1.3v on the QPI/VTT, RAM 1.5v IIRC.
I currently run @ stock speeds [with a little undervolt] because frankly, there are no gains as these chips are so fast anyway.

My chip isn't a sterling overclocker but it manages 4GHz @ 1.45V. Most 750s will manage it at under 1.4V and tbh, like terbinator I'm not going for all the power available, I'm just going for an overclock but with a lower voltage than the max overclock. TBH I'm thinking it was my aggressive memory timings that was affecting the OC's stability at 4GHZ, maybe if I had set the RAM at 1600mhz cas 8 instead of 6 it would have been stable with a lower voltage.
I haven't tried the OC genie button - I did it manually. Got it at 3.4GHz at the moment because my room is ridiculously hot. When it was cooler I went up to 3.8GHz but as Terb said, it isn't exactly slow in the first place!
I've seen a lot of people getting 3.8GHz out of the 750/860's with less than 1.4v, most of the time around 1.35v, which is quite good IMO.
Going above that speed is just diminishing returns for the amount of extra voltage thats required and subsequent heat output.

I am a prime example, aren't I great
3.71 @ 1.36v

The i5 range CPU's which aren't the 750/760 are over-priced tosh. Dual-core (4 threads) and make no sense if you've got the option to go for the 750/60.
And yeah, unless your getting a 750 at a really good price, go for the 760 - the extra multiplier is significant because the i5/7 O/C better with odd multipliers: the i5 760 has a x21 multiplier compared too x20 multiplier of the 750.

Well the money is spent and the RAM is bought, The processor is end of month purchase i5 750 mi thniks.
Got a coolermaster stacker going to put a closed loop system in one of them corsairs for 57 quid ish from scan
