There is also the Sony Z-Series which is super sexy on paper, but costs 3x your budget, and will probably crap out within 2 years (or at least the fan will)

Yeah I would love a Z-series tbh, but sadly I have not won the lottery (yet )

Did you notice the word 'ontario' in there?

That's a hint Temperature and battery life will be more than fine, the question is whether there's enough umph. Think of it as a better version atom + ion.

Yeah, I wonder if the Envy 14 is meant to replace both the 13 and 15 (though it lost the USB 3.0 found on the 15 released at the beginning of the year). If you don't mind 11.6", perhaps it's worth looking into Alienware M11x? Not very light for it's size, but GFX card is competitive with the HD5650 (minus DX11).

Yeah I did like the M11x's spec sheet, but it's as thick as a small brick which makes it a no-go I'm just too damn picky tbh

Any idea if the Ontario chips will come paired with a new chipset? USB 3.0 and SATA III would be ace...!

I think I will wait until there are some tests on it. Althon right now typically is pretty bad. They have power, but the heat and the power drain is bad. The only good thing is they are cheap and their integrated graphics are sometimes better than intel integrated graphics but for me laptops need to be cool and not power draining...and for that Intel mobile CULV trumps them
