Arrrgh I knew it was going to be pricey but not that pricey.
Looks like I'll still have to dream of owning one as there's no way I can afford it.
A couple more curve balls
Lian-Li Armorsuit PC-50 or PC-50R not quite as much as a monlith as some of lian-li's other cases mainly because of that angled front&top bezel.
Thermaltake Element S http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/Produc...C=1407&ID=1852
Not as big as the TJ09 and more plastic not all aluminium.
Coolermaster, the old 830 stacker, old school but still decent.
The Zalman GS1000 series cases (if you can find one) esp the GS1000SE http://www.zalman.co.kr/ENG/product/...ad.asp?idx=336
I actually perfer these to the newer MS1000 series.
However I think you need to ask a few questions first.
What's going in to it?
(that leads to) What size will it need to be at smallest?
What's the budget cap? or could money be diverted from the case and into better hardware?
What cases the person you're building this for likes?
Any pther factors to consider? (eg mobility or ease of internal access or low noise?)
The TJ09 is still a great case, but unless you're going down the water cooling route you generally don't need a massive case.
You can pack a heck of a lot into an antec 300

"I like the new Raven, or the temjin."
The Raven 2 seems a bit limited in the HD department and the 2-E version seems to have disappeared, which is a pity as I was seriously considering it.
The bits I've seen of the Raven 3 look weird to me.
Bought myself a Lian Li V1010 a while ago, lovely case...
http://forums.hexus.net/hexus-hardwa...p-upgrade.html
I got an earlier version(v1000) of that in 2005 and it is pretty much the same except my motherboard is mounted upside-down and it does not have that central rail with the angled fan.
I found that the front panel leads were not long enough to reach the headers on the board and the other problem I have is the side panels used to rattle sometimes which I cured with foam strips.
Apart from that - I like it.
I would love the TJ-07 to be updated , only minor updates. ie. black interior paint, filters on the intake fans and side vents, replace the 120mm fans with 140mm fans, maybe swop those two 90mm fans with one 140mm fan too.
Just seen this:

Looks like an American fridge but lots of space inside.
The new NZXT phantom - it comes in red, black and white. It looks pretty swish
The NZXT Phantom does look sweet!
I've has my CM 690 II Advanced for a week or so now and its really easy on the eye. Great case too.
I personally love my FT01 and think it's good looking, very quiet with an i5 760 and hd 5850 in it. The CPU has never been really overclocked, just a gentle push to 3.3ghz but it was still close to silent, just a gentle hum in the background and I think this is just because it has a side window and not insulation there.
If he has money to burn the Lian Li X2000 is a stunning thing.
No! You cannot say you bought yourself a beautiful V1010 and then call it a cheap upgrade. Envy is a horrible thing.
I wouldn't loose sleep over the 80mm fans in the TJ-07 if using 460s as I have two in a SFF case with a single 80mm Noctua exhaust and the hotter one doesn't get above 75C even after a few hours very heavy use. (I know its hot, but still comfortably within safe limits).
