Price Check: Harman Kardon multi-media speakers
This is an odd one.
I have 3 sets of unopened Harman Kardon HK 19-5 2.0 multimedia speakers that I was given nearly 7 years ago. I put them in a store cupboard and promptly forgot about them until last weekend when I did a massive clearout for a car boot sale.
Trouble is I can't find a price other than $20 and that wasn't a current price.
Current models of 2.0 12w speakers are around £30-£35.
I was thinking £20 excluding postage as they are a good make but I don't know.
Any ideas?

Looks like everybody else is in the same boat as me as haven't got a clue what their price should be :shocked2:
Oh well maybe I should look at Ebay.
Re: Price Check: Harman Kardon multi-media speakers
Well, I could see their low price due to their looking old, i.e. they just look like something you'd pick up at whatever supermarket you have there (Tesco? is that something you have?) for a few quid. Probably the main drawback.
Don't get me wrong, my speakers are the ancient Cambridge Soundworks PC Works (unluckily, they're the oh-so-popular-at-the-moment "Computer Beige"), but they're magnetically shielded (big plus) and I find little reason to upgrade (well, I do like Creative GigaWorks T3, but I've got to work on those for a bit, and the priority is quite low there). But selling something that looks old might be hard for that reason alone.
Besides, there's no way you'd find any reviews on them out there, so no way of checking whether they are good.

They don't just look old they are old...but if I slapped a bit of shiny black paint on them they would look new (ish).

I did find plenty of customer reviews and mostly good...but I've decided that I got them for free so no loss.
I did hook up a set and actually they don't sound bad...So I'll keep this set and put the other 2 on the car boot sale. Somebody will pay a few quid for them and get a nice surprise.

What I mean was, they look old and that's almost instantly associated with "used".
And yeah, I'd assume Harman Kardon wouldn't sound bad :D
