    Re: CPU odd frequency

Not really. Mine would've been the difference between... hmm, 2.13GHz and 2.4GHz. That said, it's not like I ran any CPU benchmarks before and after - I imagine if I had I would've seen a difference. As it was, I was just looking at peak temps (70C plus!) and persuading myself that I needed watercooling

Just needed cooling! I've never seen mine hit 70 stock or overclocked, even when it got super-dusty in there...!

    Re: CPU odd frequency

Stock Intel cooler in a cheap, poorly ventilated mid-tower case. It reaches over 60 just running a wPrime 32M. I had the choice of a better case and air cooler, or modding the case heavily and fitting watercooling

I love messing around with that kind of thing. That said, I need to get on with it or no-one will believe that I'm actually going to watercool the damn thing

    Well, it's got a D-TEK Fuzion v1 and an old-spacing Thermochill PA120.3, which should help And a second 8800GTX

Just need to plan the loop, invest in some compression fittings and tube, and work out how to fit everything into a cheap mid-tower

Not SLI yet, and it's warm enough with just one of them hence the water loop. That fiend GoNz0 had the waterblocks I needed for the mobo and first GTX, and talked me into buying a second GTX off him at the same time! Damn him Threads and piccies soon guys, I promise, but my SketchUp sucks so I need to spend some time doing hand sketches of possible configurations before I start persuading people to give me advice

    Re: CPU odd frequency

Haha, dual 8800's should be fun It was my main reason I didn't want to upgrade, a single 8800GTX kept the room nice and warm at night
