I'm using an MSI 760G-E51 which is good for what I use it for.

Look on scan today only (http://www.scan.co.uk/TodayOnly/Index.aspx) for psus. Avoid CiT and ezcool, the antec and corsair 430W units would be the lowest power and cheapest I would trust.

Re: which matx am2+/am3 motherboard with HDMI for my Phenom II X2 550

Is your motherboard the DDR2 or DDR3 version??

I would also get the Corsair CX400W over the Corsair CX430W:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003STDV0...SIN=B003STDV0Q

The CX400W although older can supply more wattage on the 12V line than the CX430W:

    http://www.corsair.com/products/cx/default.aspx

    http://www.corsair.com/products/cx430/default.aspx

Also,Corsair rates the CX400W at 400W at 40C as opposed to the CX430W which is rated at 430W at 30C!

The CX400W also has a longer warranty.

    could i run my 4770 on a 400 watt?

even tho i may sell it... but would be nice to have kit that could handle future upgrades..

Easily powerful enough. I bought that mobo about 2 months ago, not in stock sure enough but not sure if it's discontinued.
Ebuyer has the 785G version in stock http://www.ebuyer.com/product/173978

Re: which matx am2+/am3 motherboard with HDMI for my Phenom II X2 550

You will need to check if you have DDR3 or not.

    The MSI 785GM-E51 uses DDR3:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/173978

The CX400W actually can easily supply more than 400W according to this review:

check the RAM frequencies. > 1066mhz and it's almost certainly DDR3, in fact it could be ddr3 if it's 1066 mhz anyway.

Re: which matx am2+/am3 motherboard with HDMI for my Phenom II X2 550

ive come up with an alternative idea... i was thinking i have an old akasa ak-p400fg 400watt psu form a very old build...

it never let me down.. and is sitting used.

it doesnt have pci-e power cable on it but could i just get a cable and plug that in to my 4770?

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/124029...edium=products

im sure this must be better than the ezcool crappy psu i have.. untill i buy the cx400w which seem to be a great solid psu from doing my research?
