New wireless router

Hiya

I currently have a netgear wgr614 v9 router which is running amazingly except for one annoying thing. It won't work with steam very well which is reported by many users here:

This is annoying me to the extent where i really want a new router now. And apparently its not compatible to flash the firmware.

I initially wanted to get a netgear WNR2000 as the current netgear router is flawless otherwise. However users report similar problems:

A user reported this problem: "For some reason, this router -- and reported other netgear routers -- don't seem to play nice with Steam. When you do a server refresh in any Steam game, the high number of servers the client tries to contact for a response time gets recorded in the router log as a DDOS attack. The result is that the router will not let you connect to any of those servers until you reset the router."




So out of the hundreds of manufacturers and models can you please recommend one. I only need a basic wireless N router with 4 ethernet output ports and one ethernet input port

I use this one (cable connection) and I'm very pleased with it. I play lots of games on Steam, have internal servers via port forwarding etc and it is excellent but you may not want to spend that much.

Don't know because I haven't used that one - you asked for recommendations

I have failed to find any reviews for the Edimax but have found two forum posts regarding the fact that it drops connections to the modem (even after one user swapped his unit). Consequently I wouldn't buy one without being able to find some positive reviews on it.
