Why is this more expensive , yet apparently worse!?

Why are the silverstone decathlon series of psu's more expensive than the strider series psus, when comparing units with similar wattage? The strider series has a bigger fan, 100% modular just like the decathlon series, is much more efficienct and has a similar amount of amps on a single rail. The only difference I can spot other than the price is that the decathlon series is much bigger than the striders ... which i would view as a negative, but what is going on in that extra space which is making the decathlons £30 more expensive even though it has a worse specification!?

An explanation would be much appreciated.

    850w decathlon

    850w Strider

This isn't just random this is across the whole range and on different etailers as well.

Well, that might be down to the quality of the components inside. Better quality might give you more stable voltages (less ripple) - it's not all down to wattage.

The more expensive one delivers 70A 12v insted of 67A so I would assume the components in are slightly higher rated. I woulkd get the cheaper one myself.

If you're looking to buy one you'd probably be better off with something less powerful, you wouldn't need 850w unless you were overclocking with 3 GPUs or something.

It was more just that I was curious, because £30 odd quid is a significant premium and it seems odd for silverstone to do something like that for no reason.

Re: Why is this more expensive , yet apparently worse!?

Another possible answer could be that the two psu's are manufactured by different companies, and are then re-badged by Silverstone, for example a psu made by Seasonic is probably more expensive than one produced by a lessor company.
